મેં તજી તારી તમન્ના - મરીઝ
મેં તજી તારી તમન્ના તેનો આ અંજામ છે,
કે હવે સાચે જ લાગે છે કે તારું કામ છે.
સ્ખલન બે ત્રણ પ્રસંગોમાં મને પણ છે કબૂલ,
કોણ જાણે કેમ આખી જિંદગી બદનામ છે.
એક વીતેલો પ્રસંગ પાછો ઉજવવો છે ખુદા!
એક પળ માટે વીતેલી જિંદગીનું કામ છે.
આપની સામે ભલે સોદો મફતમાં થઈ ગયો,
આમ જો પૂછો બહુ મોઘાં અમારાં દામ છે.
જિંદગીના રસને પીવામાં જલ્દી કરો ‘મરીઝ’,
એક તો ઓછી મદિરા છે, ને ગળતું જામ છે.

MARIZ ni mar ne pachavvu sahelu nathi,
Fulo darek bagna sathe pirsava sahelu nathi.
Lagi chhe pyas jo GAZAL ni, bujavi saheli nathi,
Jo hoy tamnna to pamvu mushkel nathi.
